Facilities

Accommodations are available in Sierra Madre Village, multi-building apartment complex with 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom, 2-bath apartments located approximately 1.5 miles from the heart of campus with the following features:

  • Two or three rooms furnished with two twin beds, desks, desk chair, small chest of drawers, and a closet. 

  • Beds are made up with one set of linen for the duration of your stay and towels are provided. Fresh linens and light cleaning service are provided if your stay is over a week. 

  • Choice of single- or double-occupancy bedroom in a shared apartment. 

  • Each apartment will have a kitchen with table service for four/six including knives, forks, spoons, cups, plates, and bowls, a refrigerator (please empty when you depart), a stove/oven, a microwave, and dish soap and a sponge. Please note: Kitchen sinks are equipped with garbage disposals. Guests should not put their hands in the drain.  

  • Rooms do not have air conditioning, telephones, televisions, or clocks (you may wish to bring a small fan). 

  • Complimentary laundry washer/dryer facilities on-site. Please provide your own detergent. 

  • Located within a mile from the beach and about two miles from the Camino Real Marketplace with a theater, restaurants, Target, and more.  

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi is available across campus. Additional details on the UCSB Information Technology website 

  • UCSB is a smoke free campus. Smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco or unregulated nicotine products (such as electronic cigarettes) is prohibited on and within UCSB managed property. 

  • Dining Commons meals are not included as part of the Sierra Madre Villages housing packages. Sierra Madre Villages guests may pay for a meal at the Dining Commons with a credit card. 

What to Bring

With shared bath facilities, we recommend that you bring a bathrobe and shower shoes. You may also wish to bring a small fan as individual rooms do not have air conditioning.

Dining commons meals are included with the accommodation packages. UCSB Campus Dining is among the top-rated university dining programs nationwide, with the following features: 

  • Assorted hot foods cooked to order 

  • Vegetarian, vegan, and low-fat selections available at every meal 

  • Extensive salad and condiment bar including fresh fruit  

  • Fresh baked goods prepared on-site daily 

Parking

Parking permits are required on campus at all times. Guests will need to purchase a parking permit if they are bringing a vehicle to campus. Permits are only valid in the lot(s) designated. Additional details provided with your registration confirmation.  

Be very cautious of where you park. Guests are responsible for following parking rules and for any penalties. See Campus Map

  • From the South: Take US-101 to the Storke/Glen Annie exit. Turn left at the top of the exit, cross Hollister Road, proceed down Storke Road. Turn right into the Sierra Madre Villages complex (555 Storke Road) and park in lot 65. 

  • From the North: Take US-101 to the Storke/Glen Annie Rd. exit. Turn right at the top of the exit, cross Hollister Road, proceed down Storke Road. Turn right into the Sierra Madre Villages complex (555 Storke Road) and park in lot 65.

Campus Alerts

Visitors who would like to receive access to emergency messages sent by UCSB Police can subscribe to our UCSB Alerts NIXLE channel by texting UCSBAlert to 888777. (Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.) Subscriptions to UCSBAlert are temporary and expire on Mondays at 8:00 a.m., but can also be canceled by replying 'STOP' at any time. Visitors must renew subscriptions to continue receiving alerts after they expire.
