Accommodations
Transfer Student Housing is located in San Joaquin Villages Apartment Complex. Transfer students have the option to reserve an entire 2-bedroom apartment, or book a single room in a shared apartment if travelling alone. Apartments have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (maximum occupancy per apartment: 4 people).
Cost
$206 per night for an entire apartment. $103 per night for a single room in a shared apartment with another transfer student. Payment is due online via credit card at the time of registration. Credit cards, cash, and checks are not accepted at the front desk.
Eligibility
These accommodations are available only to transfer students and families attending Transfer Orientation. Please note that Orientation Transfer Housing and the Transfer Orientation program are two separate reservations. You will need to register separately for Transfer Orientation.
Apartment Amenities
- Bedrooms furnished with two single beds, desks, desk chairs, small chests of drawers, and closets
- Beds are set at captain’s height, which is higher than most standard beds
- Captain’s height is approximately 37” from the floor
- Linen is provided: pillows, blankets, sheets and towels – one set for each person (no linen service during stay)
- Apartments do not have air-conditioning, telephones, televisions, radios or clocks (you may wish to bring a small fan)
- Laundry washer/dryer facilities
- San Joaquin Villages are approximately 1 mile from campus (see map).
Front Desk Information
- The front desk is open 24-hours and located in the Santa Catalina Hall South Tower adjacent to San Joaquin Villages.
- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is by 9am
- Due to tight turnovers for the next Orientation Session, early check-ins and late checkouts will not be available for Orientation Transfer Housing.
Shared Apartment
- A shared apartment is an option for transfer students who are traveling alone. Students will be housed with another incoming transfer student.
- Please book an entire apartment if you are traveling with guests.
Parking
- Parking permits are required on campus and San Joaquin Villages at all times, and guests will need to purchase a parking permit if they are bringing a vehicle to campus.
- Permits are only valid in the lots designated. Please take note of any restrictions listed at the entrance of campus parking lots. Be cautious of where you park. Guests are responsible for following parking rules and for any penalties.

Additional Charges
- You will be charged $50 for each room key and $10 for each apartment e-key you do not return.
- Failure to leave your apartment in a clean, orderly condition and the furnishings in the original configuration may result in fees being charged to you.
- If there are damages in your apartment, you will be billed for the cost of repair.
Refunds
- Changes: Changes can be made to your University Apartments reservation by emailing conferences@ucsb.edu. A $50 fee will be assessed per reservation for any modification requests made 3 business days or less from the start of your stay.
- Cancellations: All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to conferences@ucsb.edu. A $100 per reservation cancellation fee will be retained for ALL reservations cancelled 3 business days or less from the start of your stay.
